Connect an AI assistant to SOMCV

Link ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant to your SOMCV account so it can list, read, create and rename your CVs and cover letters. You sign in with your own SOMCV account, so the assistant only sees your documents.

Connect

ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT settings → Apps (Advanced) and turn on Developer mode, reading the risk notice ChatGPT shows there. If it is unavailable, ask a ChatGPT admin to enable it.
  2. Open the new plugin dialog.
  3. Enter SOMCV as the name and paste the connection URL above.
  4. Review the details, tick “I understand and want to continue” (ChatGPT shows this warning for every custom connection), then click Create.
  5. Enable SOMCV from the chat composer, then ask ChatGPT to use it — for example “List my SOMCV CVs”.

Claude

  1. Open the prefilled Claude connector dialog.
  2. Review the details and click Add.
  3. If the prefilled form does not open, go to Claude’s Connectors page, choose “Add custom connector”, name it SOMCV and paste the connection URL above.
  4. Enable the connector from the chat composer, then ask Claude to use SOMCV.

Claude Code

  1. Run this in a terminal:
    claude mcp add --scope user --transport http somcv 'https://somcv.net/mcp'
  2. Start Claude Code and run /mcp to confirm SOMCV is connected, signing in when it asks.
  3. Ask Claude Code to use SOMCV.

Other AI assistants

  1. Open the assistant’s MCP server or custom connector settings.
  2. Create a new remote connection.
  3. Name it SOMCV and paste the connection URL above.
  4. Finish the sign-in prompt with your SOMCV account.
  5. Enable the connection, then ask the assistant to use SOMCV.

Refresh after we update the app

Assistants remember what SOMCV could do when you connected. After we ship updates, refresh the connection to pick up the latest capabilities.

ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT’s Plugins page and select SOMCV.
  2. Scroll to “Information” and click Refresh.
  3. ChatGPT cannot change an existing URL — if the URL above changed, delete SOMCV and add it again.
  4. Start a new chat and ask ChatGPT to use SOMCV.

Claude

  1. Open the Connectors page and select the SOMCV connector.
  2. Refresh or update its tools.
  3. Claude cannot change an existing connector’s URL — if it changed, remove the connector and add it again.
  4. Ask Claude to use SOMCV.

Claude Code

  1. Start a new Claude Code session; it loads the latest SOMCV capabilities.
  2. If the URL changed, run claude mcp remove somcv and run the install command again.
  3. Ask Claude Code to use SOMCV.

Other AI assistants

  1. Open the assistant’s MCP server or connector settings.
  2. Select the SOMCV connection.
  3. Refresh the tool list, reload the server, or reconnect it.
  4. If the URL changed, paste the latest URL from above.
  5. Start a new chat and ask the assistant to use SOMCV.
